FADESHERE HOUSE WINS 2ND OLYMPIC GAMES
Famous reggae singer Bob Marley said, “If you know your history, then you will know where you are coming from.” This quote made the management of our preferred institute of learning, reflect on the history of the school thereby celebrating her 10th anniversary. The school was established in January 2012 with four students following the vision to produce students of high academic standards, knowledge, morals and essentially the fear of God.
The event which was held on Thursday, 27th January 2022 at BAJ Park, Aare Onibon bus stop, Akingbile, Moniya hosted lots of sports analysts, parents and students from surrounding schools. Giving the welcome address, the consultant, Mr Babatunde Awoyemi reflected on the mission and vision of the school and how the school has imparted massively onto numerous lives in society.
The 10th anniversary also hosted the 2nd Olympics Games of the school. In the address of the guest speaker, Dr Abraham Shaibu, a scientist from the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) extensively discussed how sporting activities have been a veritable tool to develop children physically and mentally. The sports committee of the school stratified the students into 3 houses having their unique colours: Blue, Green and Red. The houses were named after their various sponsors which are Okikiolu, Fadeshere and Adenuga respectively. Fadeshere house was coordinated by Mr Soyewo Simeon and Ms Haruna Jumai. Okikiolu House was overseen by Mr Fasakin Ibrahim and Mr Akinade Gbemileke while Mr Awoniyi Abiodun and Mrs Jamiu Ganiyat took charge of Adenuga House.
Kick-starting the sports competition was a beautiful march-past past various houses. Male and female representatives from each house participated in various sports events which include 25 meters, 50 meters, 100 meters, 200 meters, 4 × 100-meter relay, sack, egg and needle races according to the modalities of the sports committee. Invited schools such as Titbun High School, Otun Agba Akin Community High School, Ivory Comprehensive College and Distinction Model College were not left out as they participated in the rally race. After much effort of competitiveness, Fadeshere House emerged the winner of the 2nd Olympic Games with a total of 110 points. Okikiolu House with 93 points came second while Adenuga House clinched the third position with 70 points.
The Proprietress expressed her utmost gratitude via the online meeting platform, Zoom to all and sundry most especially to her bosom friend, Mrs Adenuga who is part of the school management board for their steadfastness and unrelenting efforts in propelling the image of the school.
In conclusion, the school management will continue to enhance sports development initiatives because it serves as a medium to discover talents at tender ages. It also helps the participants develop the necessary physical and mental intelligence needed for all round development outside the classrooms.
